Rhodiola
Latin Name: Rhodiola Rosea
Other Names: Golden Root, Arctic Root, Rose Root
Rhodiola is a flowering herb that grows in the cold, mountainous regions of Europe and Asia.
Its root has been traditionally used to increase energy, endurance, strength and mental performance. Rhodiola is well-known for its 'adaptogenic' properties that are believed to help one to cope better with physical and mental stress, hence helpful for conditions like anxiety, depression and fatigue. It was suggested that rhodiola could help to alleviate the symptoms of depression by balancing the neurotransmitters in our brain.
Some people take Rhodiola to improve sport performance and endurance before exercise, as it helps to enhance concentration and delay the onset mental/physical fatigue.
